Meta Fabergé at EGGspression 2026 Exhibition

Meta Fabergé, the first art object by Natalia Kalinina, founder of STRIPE+BEAT, is a part of the EGGspression 2026 Exhibition at XeniArtSpace Gallery.

The Meta Fabergé project reinterprets the legacy of opulent bejewelled Easter eggs created for imperial courts and aristocracy through a contemporary lens.

The egg is entirely covered with beads, referencing historical jewelled objects while deliberately replacing precious materials with recycled and vintage ones. It took two weeks of work applying disassembled discarded costume jewellery, donated, deadstock and vintage beads to create what looks like a precious object, but holds quite an opposite ideas. Simply put, it is an attempt to reinvent a luxurious Fabergé Easter egg in times of overproduction crisis.

The aim of the work is to shift emphasis from accumulation to attachment, from luxury to reuse and care. The egg becomes not a symbol of wealth, but of interrelation, material continuity, and renewal - a vessel of meaning rather than status.

A wearable token of this project – Meta Fab Bracalet - is available for purchase.

EGGspression is the annual group exhibition taking place around Easter time. It is initiated by XeniArtSpace Gallery and aiming to explore the egg as a symbol of rebirth, transformation, and strength. Each participant is invited to turn a red clay ceramic egg into a unique artwork using any materials or techniques.

This year over 80 applications were received with ones from Milan, Copenhagen, Mexico City, and Tel Aviv, but only 36 were chosen.

Every visitor is able to vote for their favorite artwork. At the end of the exhibition, three winners will be chosen: two by our curators and one by our visitors.

The show is on from March 27 till April 25 2026
